A Pause Slow Poem
Amid
the madness a
longing for nothing runs
deep. A space for stillness, a
pause, a breath, to be nothing else
but this, all of me, all of you,
filling the spaces in between,
making the nothing
everything.

Coronavirus Thoughts from A Garden for Wellness in Clarkesville GA

We know by now many of you have read or heard about the coronavirus in Clarkesville GA. We are curious about how you are with the torrential downpour of information.

The part of our brain that wants to keep us alive is consuming information, groceries and even toilet paper at alarming rates. We are at risk of information overload and wisdom depravity.

Science tells us that the physiology of fight, flight or freeze depletes our immunity (as well as other systems). You are not designed to have a bowel movement while running from a lion, nor fight pesky toxins/viruses.

Science also tells us that toxins/viruses penetrate a cell via the cell wall and metaphorically they are like bicycles parked on the cell receptor drawing energy out of you for their own propagation. The Neurotransmitters that express when we are in the rest, heal, digest and especially when we are experiencing states that come from our higher mind…love, compassion, empathy, gratitude are metaphorically like Mack Trucks. If you maintain these high energy states, you will be parking Mack Trucks on the receptor sites and there will be no room for bicycles! The virus/toxin can't get into the cell and impact your health.

However, you must be where you are. Acknowledge your suffering, anger, fear, grief, and connect to what is real for you. Now more than ever utilize the 12 Stages of Healing.

The services that we provide at A Garden for Wellness and Antahsara Yoga impact the fight, flight, and freeze or sympathetic part of your nervous system and affect the rest, heal, digest or parasympathetic expression of your nervous system. This allows you to see through the lens of the present moment rather than through the lens of the collective fear. Because we are all connected, your ability to be present and authentic becomes an alternative and potent boost, a kind of blessing for the collective.

Knowing the value of this inspired me to stay open up until this point. It is with a heavy heart and deep concern for the safety and well being of you, our families and ourselves that we have decided to PAUSE. There are so many unknowns and it is my hope that by closing we can mitigate the extent this negatively impacts our community. Also, it will give us time to reorganize, engage moral fortitude and contribute in ways we do not yet know, to the betterment of us.

This Pause is scheduled for 2 weeks. On April 3rd we will re-evaluate and make another decision. We will not be available in our usual ways. However, we will be available in virtual ways.
We are committed to staying connected and want to be a resource for you.

Immune Boost

Lifestyle:

  • Get plenty of rest.
  • Drink half your body weight in ounces of water daily.
  • Reduce refined sugar in the diet, especially things like soda, candy, and baked goods. Alcohol is liquid sugar.
  • Increase fruits and vegetables in the diet. (preferably organic).
  • Continue to get regular exercise. It helps to keep you healthy by reducing or countering stress, enhancing circulation and offering another mode of elimination via perspiration.
  • Add a cold rinse after your shower.
  • Wash hands often, especially before eating.
  • If you are feeling run down, try to take a day off, for rest and relaxation.
  • Reduce or eliminate smoking. (This virus gets into the epithelial cells and causes damage there…lungs and colon are most affected).
  • Receive regular chiropractic care. The nervous system has a positive impact on the immune system.
  • Scrape your tongue in the morning. Keep your nasal passages clear with a sinus rinse (make sure you are using clean water..boil it first) and perhaps rub some sesame oil inside your nasal passages. Suck on zinc drops to keep your throat lubricated.
  • Asana, Pranayama, and Meditation are ancient technologies that promote health and well being.

Environment: in addition to keeping your surroundings clean from the usual things, consider your energetic environment. Keep the vibration high…the bigger rhythm wins.

  • Turn off Wifi at night and keep your bedroom free of all devices.
  • If fear and anxiety start to move into the real estate of your mind, consider stage 5 from Donald Epstien's "12 Stage of Healing" or schedule an appointment with Cooper or Tasha or me or any other way that you might successfully interrupt your pattern. Dance, Make love, Sing, Run, Play music that you love etc.
  • Spend at least five minutes in the morning and evening visualizing yourself healthy, strong, flexible and expressing radiant health.
    Pray for yourself and others.
