Basic Pilates: Susan Stumpf

Pilates classes at A Garden For Wellness are multi-level and focus on posture, proper joint alignment, diaphragmatic breathing, and core engagement. Pilates addresses the body as a whole, correcting asymmetries and weaknesses of your body and bringing it back into balance. The method works to strengthen the abdominals and back, the deep postural muscles which support the spine and allow you to sit and stand in better alignment and move with more ease, precision, and zest! Using foam roll, Pilates ring, and balance cushion. Appropriate for those w/ prior Pilates experience and few to no limiting physical factors.

8:30 am - 9:45 am

Join Tasha Grand in her gentle flow series inspired by P. JoisBKS IyengarShiva Rea and Sivananda. This class will gently awaken your body and spirit with breath and movement while refreshing your awareness on how to still the mind with a guided meditation. AIS or Active Isolated Stretching is designed to increase one's flexibility through gentle, calming stretches. It is ideal for those who have difficulty with yoga because their bodies are too stiff or too weak. The stretches are done on tables, do not involve supporting your weight, and are held for no more than 2 seconds. You will leave class feeling loose and invigorated.

11:30 am - 12:30 pm

12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Tai Chi: Richard Eubanks

Yang Style 24 is a slow moving style resembling a stylized dance and is the most popular and widely practiced form of Tai Chi. Its movements are larger, gentle, slow and evenly-paced. Regular practice of Yang-Style Tai Chi improves general health for the practitioner as the exercise keeps the joints flexible and the bones and muscles strong. In this class, students will learn and practice foundational steps and techniques of Yang-Style Tai Chi through a step-by-step introduction to the Yang-Style Tai Chi 24. This class is suitable for students of all levels and all ages.

1:30 pm - 2:30 pm
Chakra Yoga: Dr Deana Brooksher

The chakras are 7 energy centers that extend from the base of your spine to just over the top of your head. When prana (energy) flows through them easily your physical, emotional, and mental health all improve. When the chakras become blocked, you may experience physical or emotional symptoms. Each of the chakras has its own distinct properties, but they work together as a whole. Meaning: if one of the chakras is out of balance, it can put the entire system out of whack. Yoga poses—along with meditation and pranayama practices—can help keep the chakras open.

5:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Yoga Nidra: Robin Workman

Yoga Nidra is often referred to as "yogic sleep," a state of being between sleep and consciousness that's conducive to deep emotional and physical healing, rewiring your brain, and self-exploration. The practice draws our attention inwards, and we learn to surf between the states of wakefulness and sleep, where our body finds its natural state of equilibrium (homeostasis) - the breath balances and becomes quiet, unconscious and conscious aspects of the mind reveal themselves, and we fall into an innate state of deep, blissful awareness.

8:30 am - 9:45 am
Radiant Body Yoga: Meghann Brackett

Join Meghann Brackett in her Radiant Body Yoga class. This class is a holistic approach to yoga designed by Kia Miller, which has it roots in the ancient Kundalini and Yogic traditions. These practices are designed to awaken each practitioner to their higher nature. They offer a potent combination for all levels of physical posture, breath work, kriya (specific sequences), meditation, and chanting. This practice will increase strength, build vitality, and create mental clarity.

10:00 am - 11:15 am
Devotional Yoga: Candy Gay

This is an all-level class. One of my favorite Hatha Yoga quotes by Swami Kriyananda is "The yoga postures are the outward expressions of the inner movements of the soul." This gives us profound insight into how to develop devotion through Hatha Yoga. The yoga postures are like a dance, a form of worship of the Divine. The Sanskrit name for devotion yoga is Bhakti yoga.
